The world is full of bugs and slugs
Of this we’re all aware
Ticks and lice and flies galore
And skeeters fill the air
With fumigants and pesticides
- Oh yes we call them pests
We hunt them down and kill them dead
Until then no one rests
But fortunate for all involved
We’ll never get them all
Cause if we did, you’d not believe
The mess that would befall
From excrement to carcasses
The dead from times gone by
We’d never see the earth at all
The pile would be so high
No pollen spread from tree to tree
We’d have no fruits to eat
No honey from the honey bee
And other things so sweet
No birds who eat those flying bugs
No butterflies so free
No dragonflies or water bugs
No slimy slugs we’d see
The world would be an awful mess
On this each one agrees
But worst of all, we’d never know
About the birds and bees
