Glen Echo is a timeless place
A place where spirits rest
But kindly spirits most of all
Who know the inner quest
A sign along a busy road
Invites the trail-worn in
A place to eat with local fame
And curios within
But down behind the busy store
Amongst the quite trees
A place of silence deep inside
To put the mind at ease
The spirits welcome one and all
They have no ax to grind
A solace for the heart and soul
The pines will clear the mind
The Poudre River splashes by
The mountain snows still melt
A carefree song it sings to all
Its touch within is felt
I’ve seen the deer just wander through
They seem to sense no fear
I’ve heard the chatter of the birds
The night owl hoots are clear
The tourist, hunter, kids alike
All sense the very same
The greatest search, the distraught heart
Are suddenly quite tame
The fireplace, a gentle flame
The dog lies at my feet
A warmth floods through my mind and heart
A ‘soul’ar hug replete
The Spirit Earth and sun above
The eagles soar for fun
The pine and aspen, mountain flower
Are all within as one
This place will never change it seems
I thank my Lord for such
The inner soul explodes anew
How can it feel so much
Glen Echo is a timeless place
A place where spirits rest
But kindly spirits most of all
Who live the inner quest
