Now Mickey mouse and Minnie mouse, they’re given great acclaim,
And Mighty mouse and Super mouse have almost equal fame.
But what about the other mice who occupy this land.
The names we give to them as such are truly very bland.

We have those mice who go to school at universities.
These research mice will spend their lives and never get degrees.
And church mice surely pray all night for great serenity,
But does this do them any good in our eternity.

And mice who roam the fields at night are named for their domain.
We bother not to note the crop, they all are called the same.
If they are quick and lucky too and winter in a house,
Their moniker is changed to house, their surname still is mouse.

We sometimes bother even less with white or brown or gray
As though it matters not to us the place where they would stay.
To make such matters even worse, we strike the final blow.
To call them common – no respect – how could we stoop so low.

We need not venture further on, they have the final say.
To name them all or use but one, to them is just okay.
Cause names are out and numbers in, they concentrate on birth.
While cartoons we will make of them, they’re out to conquer earth.
