The earth turns at a rapid pace
We call ourselves the human race
And what we do the great rat race
We even race to outer space
We call our schools a paper chase
The fastest yet are in first place
The slow are held in great disgrace
And faster still we do embrace
I’ve pondered on this case on pace
A book I read from some bookcase
Said those who think too fast a pace
Are those who sit in just one place
But is our rush a saving grace
Or did some values we misplace
I do recall when I retrace
Be still and know – was once our ace
