You linger because you know it was a right place.
You linger because you know that which is around you.
You linger because your inner soul grew so very much.
You linger because in spite of the madding crowd,
you found the inner peace and inner contentment
You linger because you never acquiesced to power, money, and politics.
You linger because there are those around you in whom you believe and enjoy.
There were many who sought to bring you down.
There were many who used you.
There were many who mocked your beliefs.
There were many who tried so hard to test you
by their ever fluctuating standards and values.
There were many who thrived on momentary victories.
There were many who enjoyed twisting the concepts.
There were many who tried to justify their position
by bringing others and yourself down to their level.
There were many who would never see that their perceived victories
were actually great losses to themselves.
There were many…………..
You linger not because you feel sorry for them,
but because you never joined them in their desperation.
You linger because your own spirituality gave you an inner purpose and direction.
You linger because you never lowered your standards
and values to those of the madding crowd.
You linger because through all of the control around you, you found balance.
You linger but for a brief moment to say Thank You
to the Great Spirit for the abundance of the blessings within you.
You linger to ask only for guidance within.
And then you leave the fibrillating mass behind.
And you move on.
